Ashley Gallagher | President, Happy Horses California

Western roots. Purposeful leadership. Community stewardship.

Ashley Gallagher brings a lifelong dedication to western horsemanship and seasoned executive leadership to Happy Horses. Based in Southern California, she leads regional operations and builds partnerships that connect ranches, riders, and the people who support them.

About Ashley

Raised with deep equestrian roots tracing back to Fort Worth, Texas, Ashley remains grounded in western riding, family, and purposeful work.

Prior to taking the helm of Happy Horses California, Ashley built a notable career in commercial real estate, establishing pathways to mentor and support women entering the industry. She continues her active commitment to leadership and mentorship as a member of NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners) in Los Angeles.

A mother of three, Ashley directs California regional business affairs from Southern California, expanding wholesale distribution, co-producing clinic tours and arena workshops, and spearheading the Happy Horses Helping Hands workforce placement initiative.

Expanding Western Heritage in Southern California

Ashley is focused on expanding and celebrating the region’s hard-working western equestrian community. Her operational oversight connects regional barns, boarding facilities, and training centres with nutrition, education, and purposeful equipment.

California Wholesale & Nutrition

Ashley leads B2B wholesale distribution of Happy Horses region-specific, balanced, zero-added-iron loose minerals, pure Himalayan loose salt, and digestive support lines, building regional partnerships that bring nutrition closer to local barns.

Clinics & Educational Events

She coordinates regional horsemanship clinics, arena demonstrations, and pop-up barn workshops, bringing riders together around practical education and Foundation First horsemanship.

Happy Horses Helping Hands Initiative

Leveraging her corporate and executive background, Ashley leads the Helping Hands ranch placement program across Southern California.

Helping Hands bridges the gap between ranch owners seeking reliable, skilled help and motivated, vetted, background-cleared individuals, including transitioning military veterans, looking to build purposeful careers in agriculture, horse management, and ranch operations.

By establishing rigorous vetting standards and tracking clear performance metrics, Ashley works to ensure placements foster mutual growth for both facilities and workers.

In Her Own Words: Philosophy & Horsemanship

What kind of riding and horses do you enjoy?

“I only ride western as I was raised. I ride Quarter Horses, but I will always have a soft spot for a Dapple Grey or an Appaloosa.”
— Ashley Gallagher

What does the “Mirror Effect” mean to you?

“Horses are prey animals. Despite their size, they feel every ounce of energy we carry around them—the good, the bad, and the ugly. To achieve true acceptance and respect from such a powerful animal, you have to accept who you are and build a genuine two-way partnership.”
— Ashley Gallagher

How does corporate experience support ranch stewardship?

“A corporate background provides the discipline to build strategic relationships and meet milestones that serve both the company and the community. Helping Hands allows ranch owners and dedicated individuals who want the cowboy lifestyle to find each other smoothly and sustainably.”
— Ashley Gallagher

What keeps you grounded?

“My three kids are my driving force. They remind me to slow down, appreciate the calm, and embrace the storm. When life moves fast, you smile, remember these moments don't last forever, grab the reins, and hold on.”
— Ashley Gallagher
