Our Century Farm

We’re Tim and Sandi Devereaux, and we’re proud to call our century farm home.

For us, horses and the western way of life have never just been a hobby. We’ve spent years around horses, from rodeo arenas to quiet days riding for the sheer enjoyment of it. Along the way, we’ve learned that every horse is different—and finding the right bit can make all the difference.

With our two daughters growing up on the farm and horses being part of our lives, we’ve had plenty of opportunities to see bits put to the test in the real world.

Custom Bit Makers and Happy Horses® Partners

Tim’s passion for making horse bits grew from that hands-on experience. He takes a lot of pride in building bits that are well thought out, well made, and meant to be used—not just hung on a tack room wall.

Tim handcrafts custom bits made to order, tailoring mouthpieces and shanks to address each horse’s biomechanical and behavioural needs. His designs can help address concerns such as leaning into the bit, hiding behind the bridle, lack of hind-end engagement, or stiffness through the shoulders and ribcage.

The focus is on body and shoulder manipulation rather than pulling on the horse’s face, helping maximize rider feel, communication, and a more thoughtful connection between horse and rider. Alongside curb and correction designs, Tim and Sandi have also introduced a custom snaffle bit to the lineup.

A Family Business Built with Purpose

We’re not a big operation, and we don’t want to be. We’re a family, a farm, and a small business built around something we genuinely enjoy. Every bit that leaves our shop carries a little piece of that with it.

Operations and Community

In addition to making custom bits, we serve as an official Happy Horses® pickup and shipping hub for bits. Sandi manages order processing, invoicing, QuickBooks integration, and cross-border shipping configurations between Canada and the United States.

Together, Tim and Sandi bring practical craftsmanship, careful logistics, and a shared commitment to helping horse people find better communication with their horses.
